Elenco di teologi puritani

I Puritani erano originalmente membri di un gruppo di protestanti inglesi che perseguivano la "purezza" della fede cristiana secondo il criterio normativo del Nuovo Testamento e quindi avrebbero voluto che la riforma della Chiesa di Inghilterra si spingesse fino ad eliminare del tutto le concezioni del Cattolicesimo romano percepite come spurie rispetto al Cristianesimo originale per abbracciare le persuasioni del Calvinismo. Quando le loro istanze non sono accolte e vengono repressi, essi entrano nella clandestinità oppure emigrano in America per poter praticare liberamente le loro persuasioni.
